Brooke Cervantes - Second Grade Teacher
Brooke Cervantes is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach (Masters in Public Administration) and Eastern Kentucky University (Bachelor of Science in Corrections and Juvenile Services). Brooke has always been called on to serve in children’s ministry and is known by all her friends and family as a helper. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and pets, fellowship with friends, and traveling. Brooke Cervantes is a 2016 graduate of California State University, Long Beach (Masters in Public Administration) and a 1995 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University (Bachelor of Science in Corrections and Juvenile Services). Brooke has an extensive history of working with children and families: beginning with working at a daycare during college, to juvenile probation in her undergraduate co-op program, to an adolescent care worker for a residential treatment home for girls (post-undergraduate), to volunteering at local rescue missions and a mission trip to Kenya; and serving in children's ministry (nursery through 5th grade). Brooke has always felt called to serve in children’s ministry. For the past 15 years, she has been actively involved with and serving in her home churches: Wednesday night and Sunday children and youth services, a co-operative education program, children's conferences (for teachers), and summer camps. Prior to teaching second grade, she was a co-teacher for four years, and most recently, a Veritas Lower Campus Aide for three years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and pets, outreach ministries, fellowship with friends, outdoor adventures, staying active, and traveling. Brooke is honored to be teaching at VCA!
