The Board, faculty, and families of Veritas Classical Academy assent to our Statement of Faith:

The Scriptures

The Holy Bible was breathed and authored by God, and written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. It is perfect instruction without error. It is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, belief, and opinion should be tried. The Holy Bible is living and powerful and is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the human heart. It is profitable for reproof, correction, teaching, and training in righteousness.

God

There is only one living and true God, an infinite and intelligent Spirit, the Creator and Ruler of all heaven and earth. He is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient and benevolent; He is inexpressibly glorious in holiness and worthy of all possible blessing and honor, glory, dominion and love. In the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, who are equal in every divine perfection.

Man

Man was created in the image of God, in holiness, and under the law of his Maker; but by voluntary transgression, man fell from his happy position and is empty of the holiness required by the law of God. Man is inclined to evil, lust, greed, and pride, and is therefore under condemnation without defense or excuse.

Marriage

We believe that term “marriage” has only one meaning and that is marriage sanctioned by God which joins one biological man and one biological woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture, and that this union is the sole God-ordained relationship for sexual intimacy.  We believe that any form of sexual immorality, or any attempt to change one’s biological gender or to otherwise act upon any disagreement with one’s biological gender, is sinful and offensive to God.

Salvation

Salvation of a sinner is completely by grace, through the Son of God, Jesus; who by plan of the Father, freely took on human nature, yet without sin, honored divine law by His obedience, and by His death made a full atonement for man’s sins. Having risen from the dead, He is now seated upon the heavenly throne, a compassionate and all-sufficient Savior. The Holy Spirit brings a change of heart, through conviction of sin, to which the sinner responds in repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Summary

We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried; on the third day He rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God the Father. From where He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
